Adding More Preps / Orderly Panic...

For about the last few months I have felt the urge to top off the preps like there's no tomorrow. Call it gut feeling or what ever, but, I feel something big is going down soon, OR... has already gone down and we have not been fully briefed yet, or partially for that matter.

I was layed-off from my job (electronics technician) a couple weeks ago and no, this is NOT the SHTF situation Im talking about or have been anticipating. I fully expected to be let-go months ago and for the last half year have been in shock that I was still there. When the news finally came down that I would be no longer needed, I was thrilled and relieved that I could now get the hell out of the city and join family members also prepping with the same mindset.

I frequent alot of other forums besides GIM and this seems to be a common story, step up the preps, time is short.

Look whats changed in just a year...

The markets, PMs and the USDX seem to indicate we are in uncharted waters. A year ago a hundred point loss/gain made headline news, today its kinda expected. The headline reading Stocks Bounce Back used to mean something like, the DOW fell seventy-five points at the open and closed up twenty-five. Now, that same headline could mean the DOW was down six-hundred and fifty two points and ended up at only a hundred and thirty-five points down.

Anyone else feel we are exponentially headed for deep dodo.

Strange times indeed...

I think my biggest fear is that somebody is going to try to "do something" (more) about it. ...If'n you know what I mean.
BTW, I figure that the real net effect of deep doodoo is a sudden lack of availability of anything. Either 'flation view seems to add up to NO STUFF. Martial law? No stuff. Shipping strike? No stuff. USPS layoffs round 3....(in due time)? No stuff. Oil embargo?
Currency failure? Massive unemployment? Major new war? NO STUFF!
Congratulations on your severance. The feeling must be good, no joke.

True, hypervel, that any little event can cause a shortage of necessaries.

And any of those events could realistically occur soon. Next week seems like a pretty likely time.

(S)election-based riots, anyone?

Impact of 2008 financial crisis

On 21 May 2008 the index reached its record high level since its introduction in 1998, reaching 11793 points. Less than half a year later, on 31 October 2008, the index had dropped by 93%, to 851 points. These low rates move dangerously close to the combined operating costs of vessels, fuel, and crews. [8], [9].
By the end of 2008, shipping times had been already delayed by reduced speeds to save fuel consumption, but lack of credit meant the disappearance of letters of credit, historically required to load cargoes for departure at ports. Debt load of future ship construction was also a problem for the companies, with several major bankruptcies and implications for shipyards.[10], [11] This, combined with the collapsing price of raw commodities created a perfect storm for the world's marine commerce. Cheaper fuel was no longer able to offset this situation and global letters of credit are beyond the powers of the Federal Reserve.

Please share some of the other forums that help in stepping up the preps.
Thanx for your post.

Yes, I have that 'get your head down and you final preps in' feeling. And the 'no stuff' is on my maybe radar as worth covering.

The odd thing is my mood turns kind of ahead of events. My mood turned deep black in 99 over future developments and it wasn't y2k related. Now I feel really hopeful and cheerful. I interpret that as some of the worst is dead ahead, but then much much better after 2 to 10 years. Maybe better than my whole life till now. The 2012, hidden imam, 2nd coming, shangri-la etc etc prophecies are my only way to verbalize my feeling like the dark side is cresting and about to be removed from this earth. They can go play war and S&M somewhere else since they like it so much. There are realms for those who think burning flesh in white phosphorus is fun. But not here much longer. If you don't like that way of pain and death, then just hang in a few more years for the good part.

That is exactly what I hope for. We live in a time where we are either going to truly experience freedom....or totally experience slavery.

quite exciting.:adore:

How many of us live near a nuke holding base that will
be a target if the SHTF ?

I am about 90 miles from Barksdale AFB ,lots of nukes
stored there.
